Description
Muff Liquor Company Potato Craft Gin
TASTING NOTES:
- Colour: Muff Liquor Company Potato Craft Gin is a transparent gin which is crystal clear in the glass.
- Aroma: It smells strongly of citrus with a touch of elderflower at the end.
- Taste: A juniper-forward gin with background flavours of spice and citrus, this full-bodied dry gin is very smooth and complex. The touches of bittersweet mandarin and elderflower are excellent additions.
PRODUCER: The Muff Liquor Company. This distillery is best known for its production of potato-based spirits. Located in Inishowen, the Muff Liquor Company follows in the footsteps of Philip McClenaghan, who used the potatoes from his farm to create his own poitín-style liquor. His granddaughter, Laura Bonner, and her business partner used this legacy as a starting point for their hand-crafted products. This is why there is an illustration of McClenaghan on the back of every bottle.
COUNTRY: Ireland
PRODUCTION DETAILS: Muff Liquor Company Potato Craft Gin, launched in February 2018, is made from four different types of Irish potatoes. There are nine botanicals used to create this gin including mandarin, rosemary, lemon, elderflower, and the essence of champagne. These are joined by some of the more traditional gin staples. After going through six distillations, the final unique product is considered complete. This smooth, creamy gin is very aromatic and perfect for that summer gin and tonic with friends.ALCOHOL: 40%
