The American Brooklyn Gin is produced by Emil and Joe Santos at Warwick Valley Winery & Distillery, the first distillery to be granted a license in New York since the banning of alcohol during "Prohibition" in the year 1920.
The great virtue of Brooklyn Gin is that its entire elaboration is done by hand, from the copper stills for distillation, to all the ingredients used -only the best botanicals and locally purchased fruits.
The process begins with a neutral spirit, made entirely of maize from New York; this is infused with hand-cracked juniper berries, freshly cut citrus skins and other botanicals.
During tasting, the Brooklyn Gin Small Batch offers a clean and balanced structure, with a crystalline appearance, as well as lively notes of fleshy and juicy fruits, supported by a juniper backbone, which lasts through a pleasant, soft and dry finish.
