Bombay gins are made in Laverstoke Mill based on a secret recipe that can be traced back to 1761. In order to make the finest gin it can, Bombay needs to source high-quality raw ingredients. To do so, the Master of Botanicals, Ivano Tonutti, has had to travel all around the world, creating personal relationships with suppliers in order to maintain an excellent standard of care for all of the gins Bombay offers.

During these travels, Ivano Tonutti, of course, had to spend a lot of time in the Far East, looking for the perfect botanicals to bring back to the mill. This was the inspiration behind the creation of Bombay Sapphire East, which takes the classic gin blend and adds lemongrass and black peppercorns for extra spice and an extra kick of citrus flavour. These botanicals are added to the juniper berries, grains of paradise, coriander, cassia bark, orris root, liquorice, lemon peel, cubeb berries, angelica root, and almonds to infuse the gin via vapour infusion instead of boiling, as other distilleries do.

The vapour infusion creates a distinctive gin which has a very unique character, thanks to the addition of lemongrass and black peppercorns. Take a step out of the ordinary and try this excellent addition to the Bombay portfolio. It is an ideal spirit to use with tonic where the layers of flavours can really come through on the tongue, but it is equally excellent in cocktails. Let your heart guide you.

On the palate, like the nose, lemon and black pepper are protagonists in this case accompanied by juniper.
