You will like to know that…
Bobby's Schiedam Dry Gin, first released in 2014, is based on a recipe from Jacobus Alfons, also known as Bobby. Jacobus' grandson Sebastiaan discovered a bottle of his grandfather's gin - a delicious mix of Dutch jenever with Indonesian herbs and spices - and set off to craft his own gin based on that family recipe. The result is a beautiful example of East meets West, Europe meets Asia, or the Netherlands meets Indonesia.
While Sebastiaan had the idea, the historic Herman Jansen Distillery located in Schiedam, in the west Netherlands, had the experience and knowledge necessary to recreate Bobby's recipe. The final gin contains just eight botanicals, four "western" flavours, juniper, coriander seed, fennel, and rosehips, and four "eastern" flavours, cloves, lemongrass, cubeb pepper and cinnamon. Multi-layered and very aromatic, this gin is definitely unique, bold and sure to become a regular in many gin rotations.
Bobby's Schiedam Dry Gin is a gin made with love. The bottle is based on the traditional Dutch jenever bottle in shape and colour, with an Indonesian Ikat pattern enveloping the bottle. This reimagining of the traditional designs results in a modern and chic bottle that marks again the roots behind this fantastic mixture of flavours and inspiration.
