“The name is synonymous worldwide La Scolca Gavi, superior dry white wine from Piedmont. In the period 1917-1919 the estate is owned by the Soldati family. Nowadays the Giorgio Soldati who along with his daughter Chiara, already the fifth generation running the domain. This La Scolca is the oldest winery in the region which is still run by the same family. The wines of La Scolca are internationally recognized by many stars and the Gavi dei Gavi "Black Label" is even the house wine of Queen Elizabeth. In the glass, this top Gavi has the typical hay light yellow color. In the nose we smell a delicate bouquet with hints of peach and other summer fruits, and fresh herbs. In the mouth the wine is fresh, slightly minerally, delicate with a rich body and long finish. This Gavi Valentino is delicious to drink standalone and is a perfect accompaniment to salad, fish, seafood, pasta, soft cheeses.”
