He was searching for new flavours with which he could conquer the world via cocktails. Portes began by mixing the beautiful flavour of pineapple juice with white rum, but the recipe was lacking something. While he was searching for the missing piece to the puzzle, he came across Mangaroca Batida de Coco . Brazil is a country that is known for its colours, rhythms, and exotic fruit. When Portes added the coconut-flavoured Mangaroca, the union between them was perfect.

PRODUCTION DETAILS: The recipe for Mangaroca Batida de Coco is a traditional Brazilian mix, crafted with coconut, milk, and neutral spirit alcohol. Batida de coco means ‘beaten coconut', which is indeed how batida is produced: the flesh of coconuts is beaten to extract their natural flavour and white juice. This is blended with milk and spirit to a secret recipe perfected since 1976. Serve it chilled and straight up, or use it to craft the perfect Piña Colada or another of your favourite cocktails. Making an excellent Piña Colada could not be easier. Simply combine 1/4 Mangaroca Batida de Coco, 1/4 white rum, and 1/2 fresh pineapple juice. Froth all three together and serve in a tall glass with a paper umbrella for an instant island holiday mood.
