The Moretti Polegato family, creators of the La Gioiosa brand, have spent generations creating a culture of wine. As an Italian family, hailing from the land of Prosecco, Montello, and Colli Asolani, both the family and their land are reflected in their collection of red, white, and sparkling wines. The name La Gioiosa, meaning the joyous, is taken from the ancient name of the province of Trevioso, "Marca gioiosa et amorosa."
While they offer other types of wines, bubbles are the self-proclaimed passion of La Gioiosa. Among these bubbly drinks is La Gioiosa Frangoline Rosse, a sweet, wine-based aromatised drink. At the base of this wine are various red berry vines with a strong Merlot presence. The grapes for this mixture are all grown in the northeastern regions of Italy which are themselves dedicated to these types of grapes.

PREPARATION: Fragolino spumante is crafted using the ‘uva fragola', which translates as ‘strawberry-grape', and is from the North American Vitis Labrusca or ‘fox grape' family, rather than the European wine grape family Vitis Vinifera. It was brought to northern Italy because it is resistant to the phylloxera parasite, which had been laying waste to European wine production. The grapes for La Gioiosa Fragolino Rosso were cultivated in deep, medium-textured soils.
