Cantine Ceci is what happens when a tavern owner develops a deep and abiding passion for wine. In 1938, Otello Ceci was running a successful trattoria in the Parma province of Italy. Along with the exquisite food, he would give his guests his own homemade Lambrusco, made using local grapes. From there, the passion and interest in winemaking only deepened, resulting in the family closing their trattoria in order to fully enter into the world of wine. That turned out to be a great idea because the result, Cantine Ceci, remains family owned and operated, offering a gorgeous portfolio of quality wines to choose from.

At first, Ceci Otellon'Ice Demi Sec stands out in this portfolio thanks to its square, golden bottle. Inside the bottle, Lambrusco grapes from the Emilia IGT are waiting in the form of a sparkling demi-sec wine. Envisioned as an aperitif to be enjoyed over ice - which is made clear by the name of the wine - this is the perfect product to have by your side on a warm summer evening.

This gorgeous purple wine has a lovely amount of bubbles that make it extra refreshing, especially when served ice cold. Sweet and flavourful, this is the perfect aperitif. It will pair well with all kinds of food and is sure to spark both the appetite and the party.

Cantine Ceci

It was in 1938 when Otello Ceci, a well-known innkeeper in the foggy lower part of Parma, managed that in his small trattoria a guest went “crazy” for the very dark lambrusco served in the bowls. Year after year, that marvelous ritual of wine-pressing in October became his “job” and that of his...

In the middle of October, a week after the classical starting date of the Lambrusco harvest, there starts the collecting of the grapes produced in the hills of Parma. The juice is obtained through a soft pressing procedure. The winemaking is red, that is the maceration of the skins with repeated pressings enables the extraction of all the colorants and scents contained within these grapes. After fermentation at a controlled temperature, the wine is allowed to rest for a long time so that it naturally cleans itself of all impure substances, after which it is placed in temperature controlled isobaric tanks where a secondary fermentation takes place. This last operation which lasts about 3 months precedes the sterile filtration and bottling.
Excellent as an aperitif, served with ice, it is a great companion during the long, cheerful and carefree summer evenings.
