Raspberry and strawberry notes are dusted with mocha hints in this full-bodied red, which delivers chewy tannins and accents of mineral and dried herb that linger into a finish marked by peppercorn and zest details.

That red is perfect for special occasions.
The red and violet edges were visible for me. Nice smell of wood (cedar). Perfect balance of acidity.
Unfortunately, it did not match with food, although the wine was really ok.

Quinta do Passadouro is located in the world-renowned Douro Valley, on the left bank of the Pinhão River. The owners of this estate are the Bohrmann family in partnership with Jorge Serôdio Borges. Jorge's underlying philosophy for his wines is to achieve balance, with ripeness being particularly important, and the retention of good levels of acidity. The vines at Passadouro are grafted with indigenous varieties from the Douro, like Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Sousão, Tinta Barroca. Over the last few years, large investments were made to modernize the vineyards and install modern winery equipment in order to produce high quality table wines. The port wines, however, are still 100% "foot trodden" in traditional granite "lagares".

It had an intense colour. The smell of this Quinta do Passadouro reminds me somehow a menthol candy. This red has good body.
The combination of this Quinta do Passadouro and meat did not seem appropriate, best pair it with fish.
That red is perfect for special occasions.
I bought a box in my usual wine shop.
Next time I'll try it again.

Pretty aromas of nuts. This Douro tasted like what it has to be, that is grapes.
In Douro is the best I've tasted.

90 pts Robert Parker - Deep red in colour, this wine features aromas of ripe blackberry, spice, and minerality. The palate is balanced with silky tannins.
