Quinta do Crasto Tinta Roriz 2014

92 pts Robert Parker - Deep ruby colour. Very expressive on the nose, with ripe red fruit aromas, hints of cocoa and fresh floral notes. Very elegant and charming beginning that leads to a wine of compact structure. Great volume, fine texture and silky tannins. The finish is mineral, fresh and long.

Vivid and deep purple in colour with intense ripe fruit aromas and notes of oak. Soft, round and very well balanced on the palate, with a long, lingering finish.

They had it at the local shop.
Intense ruby red shade. It has currant scents. A surprisingly fresh wine.

The grapes from the best field ink Roriz Quinta do Crasto, they were transported in boxes of 22 kg plastic food and subjected to rigorous screening the cellar entry. After a step on traditional press, the mass was transferred to a stainless steel vessel with an open top and mechanical where Footpads were fermented for 10 days at a controlled temperature. After finishing the fermentation the grapes were gently pressed in hydraulic presses. Color: Opaque, violet loaded. Aroma: Good aromatic intensity, which highlights the ripe red fruit notes, fresh notes of rock rose, reminiscent of menthol notes. Aroma very complex and engaging. Boca: Home powerful, evolved into a wine of great volume, massive tannins but elegant texture. All very well involved in retro nasal aromas that remind red fruits. A very seductive wine gastronomic nature which ends balanced and persistent.

This Quinta do Crasto Tinta Roriz was a very good pairing for the desserts. It was a surprise for my best friend.
The Quinta do Crasto Tinta Roriz has a red cherry colour. Smells of wood. The taste of this Quinta do Crasto is woody.

Nice smell of wood (cedar). Taste of ripe fruit in the mouth.
I do not know whether this 2010 or the previous vintage is the best I've tasted.
