Quinta do Crasto 2017

16,5 pts Revista de Vinhos - Deep violet colour. Fresh and intense berry fruit aromas with subtle floral notes. Elegant with good volume. Rounded and finely-textured tannins give the wine a perfectly balanced structure. Fresh berry fruit flavours complete the harmonious palate. Good length.

Dark ruby in colour The aromas are really expressive, with notes of fresh red fruit and violets Seductive on the palate, with flavours of ripe berries and spices, complimented by the well-integrated tannins

I bought this at a store which is already closed.
It showed a nice yellow with a tinge of amber. Predominant honey aroma. Powerful taste of strawberry sweets.

Located on the right bank of the Douro River, between the towns of Régua and Pinhão, Quinta do Crasto is a property of 130 hectares, 70 of which are planted with vines. Nestled on a privileged location in the Douro Demarcated Region, Quinta do Crasto has belonged to the family of Leonor and Jorge Roquette for over a century and like all the great properties of the Douro it dates back to ancient times - the name "Crasto" is derived from the Latin word "castrum", which means "Roman fort". Quinta do Crasto produces a full range of products, from Douro white and red wines and Port wines to extra virgin olive oil. Together with our winemakers and our entire team, we are totally dedicated to producing wines that best represent the unique characteristics of the Douro region. We achieve this through a process that involves great devotion and commitment to excellence as well as learning and improvement.

Drinking it with a lover for a romantic dinner is perfect.
Reddish towards brown colour. Fantastic berry aromas. The wine was ok.
It was too well-bodied for our meal.
