Quinta de la Rosa 2017 (Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz)

TASTING NOTES:

  • View: This wine has a beautiful deep red colour with a light violet colour.
  • Nose: The nose is powerful, with first flavours of red fruits and black jam and floral notes and discrete empyreumatiques.
  • Mouth: The attack is fresh, the palate the wine is round and well balanced between fruit and tannins and long finish is slightly mineral.

APPELLATION: Douro

VINEYARD: Located in northern Portugal, the farm produces not only excellent wines but also port wine and olive oil known. If the domain belongs to the family of Swedish origin Bergqvist, from the early twentieth century, it is only since 1990 and the third generation successfully producing wine.

GRAPES: Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca 60% 12% 8% Tempranillo 5% Sousón and the remaining 15% come from old vines and mixtures of various VINEYARD: s.

AGEING: High 11 to 12 months in French oak barrels of Allier.

PREPARATION: The practice of sustainable agriculture and encourage the development of natural wine, wine also stuck without animal products. This year 2017 was particularly warm, as the first part of the harvest is done in August, while the vineyards at altitude could wait until September. This complex flavours harvest, therefore, a higher alcohol content.
