You will like to know that...

Carlos Alonso Douro Wine was founded rather recently in 1985. This family-run company is focused on providing high-quality Douro Valley wines to the world. This traditional Portuguese winemaking region was the first region in the world to ever be regulated. From this land full of so much history and character comes new, modern wines from an ambitious winery whose eyes look to the past for guidance while it moves steadily towards the future.

Piano markets itself as harmony between love and wine. Piano Red 2017 is a delicious blend of four fine varieties of Douro red grapes: Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Barroca, and Tinta Roriz. All of these grapevines were planted in the early 1990s, in the heart of the Douro Valley. After vinification, the nine months this wine spent ageing in French oak allowed it to mature into a ruby-red gem.

This rich, complex Douro wine could be left to age further in the bottle or you could just as easily drink it now. It will be excellent either way. Like a good instrument, it can marry with almost any style of food. Try Piano Red 2017 with fish, poultry, red meat, pasta, or salad. It will play along nicely and will finish by leaving the perfect note on your palate.

Of beautiful ruby color and dense violets, the nose is complex, with floral notes and ripe fruit. This wine in the mouth reveals good body and balance, with a structure of soft tannins.
