Kopke 2018 (Gouveio, Arinto and Rabigato)

TASTING NOTES:

  • View: presents a beautiful light yellow tone and one can see beautiful greenish iridescence that give a touch of light in the wine.
  • Nose: aromas large ripe white fruit as pear and apple is presented. It is also possible to feel aromas of peach. Freshness herbal notes that give great enhancement.
  • Mouth: is spacious and very good structure, good acid and sweet flavors that are in harmony, it is possible to appreciate levels of minerality.

APPELLATION: D.O.C. Douro.

VINEYARD: Kopke, S.A.

GRAPES: Arinto, Gouveio, Rabigato

AGEING: stainless steel tanks.

PREPARATION: Selected grapes in the field manually transported to the warehouse where they are placed to macerate for 12 hours prior to fermentation. Fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks with controlled temperature and humidity.

TASTING NOTES:View: Deep red color with violet reflections.Nose: Intense aromas of red fruits, wild berries, spices, dark chocolate, black pepper, snuff and burnished wood.Mouth: Robust body, round, structured, comprehensive, balanced, with soft tannins and flavors of red fruits. Final long and persistent.APPELLATION: Douro.VINEYARD: Kopke.GRAPES: Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca, Tinto Cao.AGEING: 14 months in French oak barrels.PREPARATION: The grapes are harvested manually. a complete destemming, followed by a gentle pressing is performed. The wort obtained is macerated cold for a period of 36 hours. Fermentation is carried out in stainless steel barrels at controlled temperatures of 24 to 26 ° C, for a period of 25 days.
