TASTING NOTES:

  • Nose: The aroma reveals ripe fruit, blackberries, black plums, and cassis. There is also a touch of vanilla and spice inherited from the partial ageing in French oak barrels.
  • Mouth: The taste is smooth, fresh, and aromatic with balanced tannins.

APPELLATION: Douro

VINEYARD: Lavradores de Feitoria, Vinhos de Quinta SA is a unique project created in September 2000. It is the result of the union of 15 farmers, who were the owners of 18 farms distributed in the best Douro terroirs in the three sub-regions (Baixo Corgo, Cima Corgo, and Upper Douro). At present, the company is composed of 48 shareholders, of which 15 are grape producers. Together, they add up to a total area of vineyards that exceeds 600 hectares.

GRAPES: Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Nacional.

AGEING: Cheda 2016 is aged approximately for eight months.

PREPARATION: The grapes are sourced from the family vineyards planted in the Douro Valley that have an average age of 25 to 30 years. The fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats. Then, two-thirds of produced substance is aged in stainless steel vats while the remaining third is aged in French oak barrels for eight months.

PAIRING: Cheda 2016 is excellent with stew, roasted game, and lamb dishes.

RECOMMENDED SERVING TEMPERATURE: 18ºC
