Description of E. Guigal Côtes du Rhône 2016
E. Guigal Côtes du Rhône 2016 (Garnacha, Monastrell and Syrah)
TASTING NOTES:
- View: dark ruby red color with purple hues.
- Nose: Intense aroma, with sweet and fresh notes of wild berries, wild flowers, spices, bitter chocolate, caramel, vanilla and smoky oak wood.
- Mouth: fine, complex, good acidity, soft tannins on the palate and light dark berry flavor notes.
APPELLATION: Cotes du Rhone (Rhone, France).
VINES: E. Guigal.
GRAPES: Syrah, Grenache and Mourvedre.
AGEING: Madura for 4 months in barrels of French oak.
PREPARATION: The grapes are harvested by hand, destemmed, are squeezed in a traditional way, macerated in contact on the cold skins and fermented in stainless steel tanks, where alcoholic fermentation at a controlled 22 ° C for 5 days temperature occurs.
PAIRING: Appetizers, canapes, roasted red meat, lamb, sausages, stews, pastas, vegetables and blue cheese.
RECOMMENDED TEMPERATURE SERVICE: 15-17 ° C

The GUIGAL family owns vineyards in Condrieu and in the Côte-Rôtie with illustrious plots producing wines such as ‘La Doriane' in Condrieu, the famous growths of the Côte-Rôtie ‘La Mouline', ‘La Turque' and ‘La Landonne', Côte-Rôtie Château d'Ampuis, Hermitage ‘Ex-Voto', produced only in the great vintages and Saint-Joseph ‘Lieu-Dit Saint-Joseph' in red and white, as well as the famous Saint-Joseph red « Vignes de l'Hospice ».
