Château D'Esclans Garrus Rosé 2015

Considered one of the best, if not the best rosé wine in the world, Garrus is a rosé wine of great gastronomy exception. He comes from a vineyard planted 80 years-old at the top of a hill in Provence. Garrus 2015 offers a salmon pink color with pale reflections, a complex nose with aromas of hawthorn and white flowers with subtle toasted notes. The mouth is above all marked by great sweetness and texture is very fine and very soft which gives a great length at this exceptional rosé. The final remind the nose with notes of white flowers. The domain Castle Esclans spans 267 hectares with 4 exceptional rosé: Whispering Angel Rock Angel, and most successful, clans and Garrus. Son of Alexis Lichine Sacha Lichine has not yet 30 years old when the death of his father in 1989, he became head of the Priory-Lichine, 4th Grand Cru Classé Margaux. After the sale of the Castle and several successful experiences in trading, he decided in 2006 to acquire the Castle Esclans in Provence with the objective of developing a range of wines to make the best rosé in the world. When joined Sacha Lichine in Castle Esclans Patrick Leon is a renowned oenologist who has participated in the development of some of the greatest men wines in the world: in France with Chateau Mouton Rothschild, Château Lascombes, Château Armailhac Château Clerc Milon, in the United States with Opus One and Chile with Almaviva. His advice has undoubtedly been decisive in the level of excellence achieved by the wines of Château d'Esclans.

Chateau D'Esclans Garrus Rose 2015

- This is such an elegant rose that is more similar to a white Burgundy. One of the most stylish, elegant roses the wine world has to offer.
- From 8-year-old Grenache vines. Seems the palest and most orange of the 28s. Slightly more savoury and more obviously garrigue-influenced than Les Clans. Lovely creamy texture and a little bit of lemon cream on the finish. Reminds me of a white burgundy in some ways. Very persistent.
- This is a very unusual top quality rose from the South of France. It is made from a blend of local grapes, and it is aged in oak barrels. It is a delicate salmon pink and has complex flavours of red berries and a savoury creaminess.

Château D'Esclans Garrus 2015

A wine to be paired with "Tapas". My best friend from Provence recommended it to me.
It has a dense colour. I noticed aromas of red fruit and flowers. It reveals a kind of salty aftertaste.

Incredibile aromi di terra, funghi, pietra, minerale e ardesia e fiori. Corposo e rotondo ma agile e dinamico. Delicati sapori di fragola, mela, limone e minerale. Salato. Lineare di acidità. Struttura super e finitura impressionante. Sarà ancora meglio in futuro, ma grande già da ora.

Chateau D'Esclans Garrus Rose In Houten Kist 2014
Aromatic, a slight strawberry scented. I didn't notice any aftertaste, but the taste was right.
This rosé is the best I've ever tasted.

Château D'Esclans Garrus 2014
Another wine enthusiastic friend of mine shared a bottle with me.
Intense colour at first sight. Typical aromas of a young wine. Round tannins and well-balanced.
Delicious, even solo.
