VINEYARD: The Jim Barry Wines's Vineyards have been in production for decades. During that time, they have opened 11 vineyards in the Clare Valley, Coonawarra, Australia. The grapes used in this wine are grown in the Old Penola Cricket Ground Vineyard. This area is famous for its Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, which are used in this wine. Millennia of erosion give this vineyard terra rossa limestone soil. This area also has a relatively cool climate for Australia.

GRAPES: Cabernet Sauvignon.

AGEING: This wine is aged for 5-10 months, in oak barrels. The barrels contribute to the wine's earthy spiciness. Customers can continue to age this wine in the bottled for 5 years if they like.

PREPARATION: After the grapes are picked and destemmed, they are macerated and allowed to ferment. Later, they are set to age in oak barrels for 5-10 months before the wine is bottled.

This wine is of a very attractive cherry colour. I cleary noticed toasty notes.I kept feeling the taste for a long time.
I took the Jim Barry wine with grilled vegetables.
Good wine and good company.
