Groot Constantia Pinotage 2017 (Pinotage)


  • View: intense cherry dark red.
  • Nose: Strong aromas of plum, dark chocolate and snuff leaves.
  • Mouth: fruity sweet and fresh, dark plums, juicy, ripe, firm tannins and complex.

APPELLATION: Western Cape.

VINEYARD: Vineyards located in the steep valley on the eastern side of Table Mountain. Grapes grown in several blocks ranging from 39 meters to 160 meters above sea level. All facing slopes from south to southeast.

GRAPES: Pinotage.

AGEING: 12 months in French oak barrels, of which 43% were nuaves French oak barrels, the rest aged in second, third and fourth filling.

PREPARATION: grapes were harvested at 26 ° Balling and fermented in their skins, giving color, flavor and fine tannins. During fermentation, daily production of four bulges to encourage maximum extraction.

PAIRING: a rich and hearty casserole. springbok steak and pepper sauce, roast lamb leg simmered.
