Domaine Gaillard Domaine Pierre Gaillard Condrieu 2018 (Viognier)

- Nose: intense aromas of pears and apples on a mineral background.

APPELLATION: AOP Condrieu.
VINEYARD: Domaines Pierre Gaillard.
AGEING: 7 to 8 months in oak barrels of fine grain (Allier and Nevers). Maximum 10% of new barrels. Batonnage with lees once a week.
PREPARATION: Manual harvest of grapes at good maturity. Alcoholic fermentation barrel, temperature controlled at 15-18 ° C. malolactic fermentation in barrel. Viognier produces very rich and aromatic wines, the fermentation is performed in barrels which give adequate to develop the aromas without overloading oxygenation. The number of new barrels is limited so that the wood does not dominate the wine. Malolactic fermentations are made in barrel to match the set.
