Castello di Fonterutoli Mazzei Chianti Classico 375ml 2016 (Colorino, Merlot, Malvasia Nera and Sangiovese)

TASTING NOTES:

  • View: dark ruby ​​red.
  • Nose: aromas of wild berries, pleasant spicy notes.
  • Mouth: elegant body, well proportioned, smooth and intense.

APPELLATION: Chianti Classico.

VINEYARD: located in the province of Siena, in the hills overlooking the Val d'Elsa, in the heart of Chianti Classico.

GRAPES: 90% Sangiovese, Malvasia Nera, Colorino, Merlot 10%.

AGEING: a period of aging in oak barrels, 40% new, for 12 months before being bottled.

PREPARATION: selected from the 120 parcels of grapes company. Grapes strictly hand harvested from late September, fermented and macerated for 16 to 18 days at a controlled temperature of 26 to 28 °C

PAIRING: aged cheeses, pasta dishes, caggiagione, red or white grilled meats, stews and casseroles. Also excellent with fried vegetables.

RECOMMENDED SERVING TEMPERATURE: 18-20 °C

A deep ruby/garnet colour. Perfumed nose of black cherry, bramble and spice with hints of tobacco. A rounded structure with ripe tannins, integrated acidity and a touch of spice on the long finish.
