This wine was created in 1952 by Charles Père Anselme, under the signature of Père Anselme, in cooperation with the glass and ceramic craftsmen of Valchiusa. The shape of the original bottle is reminiscent of the knotty and tortuous vines typical of Provence, which have to fight perpetually against the mistral wind.
The name is also evocative: Fiole", in Latin "Phiala", means "precious bottle"; "Pape " evokes the cru of Père Anselme and the presence of the Popes in the region during the Middle Ages.
Père Anselme Châteauneuf-du-Pape La Fiole du Pape is an elegant and fruity wine, the best selling in the world among all the wines of Père Anselme.
