The mixture of vines is a characteristic of Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation. In "La Bernardine" red, the dominant grape is mainly Grenache and a lower percentage of Syrah and Mourvèdre. Grenache is a variety with a lot of softness that gives elegance, silky tannins and great finesse to the wine. The wines of Châteauneuf-du-Pape denomination are formed by more grapes, then vinification is usually carried out tailored to the vines and grapes. The vinification remains traditional in closed vats of cement. Fermentation media than 3 weeks high temperature to ensure optimal extraction of color and tannins. Aging: lasts 15 months and takes place entirely in concrete tanks for a better oxygenation of the wine that preserves the freshness and aroma. At the sight, intense purple color. Nose: complex and fine; black currant and plum followed by grilled coffee, cherries and sour cherries. On the palate, the wine is spicy (liquorice) and fruity aromas evolving. very intriguing.
