VINEYARD: Domaine de la Janasse. Grenache reaches its peak in colder northern soils as Chapouin (sand), La Crau and the Janasse (sand). Thorough investigation by the team on the soil, exposure and microclimate ideally helped organize the vineyard. It has a 7 hectares and a yield of 28 hl / ha. The winery uses organic viticulture for the cultivation of vineyards under the philosophy of treating them according to the natural laws of life. Manure used is natural and avoid the use of pesticides and insecticides.
GRAPES: 100% Grenache
AGEING: Aging 2/3 in large barrels (foudres) and 1/3 in barrels of 600 liters (demi-muids).
PREPARATION: The harvest is done manually and only 80% of the grapes were de-stemmed. Maceration lasted 26 days and the artisan pressing was performed once a day. Fermentation was carried out at controlled temperature. This wine has a high demand in the market and has an annual production of 12,000 to 16,000 bottles.
WINE PAIRING: It is ideal with venison stew, rack of roast lamb and game in sauce.
RECOMMENDED TEMPERATURE SERVICE: 14-16 ° C. It should open one hour before being served.
Because of its exploded structure (more than sixty parcels), the La Janasse estate extends over a mosaic of terroirs (see illustration). Careful study and research on soils, their exposure and microclimates has made it possible to ideally organize the vineyard. White grapes and Syrah are planted preferably on sand-limestone soils and exposed northeast, to preserve freshness, acidity and finesse.Mourvèdres planted on clay-limestone soils covered with rolled pebbles get a very good level of maturity.More about the Winery
