Château de Beaucastel

Some would argue that Beaucastel needs no introduction, but this website aims to cater for both, wine-lovers and beginners, and therefore I will continue. Beaucastel is regarded by many as one of the top estates, if not the top estate, of Châteauneuf du Pape, in the Southern Rhône Valley. Whereas others focus on Grenache, with a mixture of other varieties, Beaucastel uses a high proportion of Mourvèdre, matching the contribution from Grenache in the final blend.

Good aromas of nuts. I drank in several day after I first opened it and, even though the days, it tasted good.
The most recommended Rhône.

Reviews of other vintages of Château de Beaucastel Hommage à Jacques Perrin 201420132012

4/5

Probably the wine of the vintage, the 2014 Châteauneuf du Pape Hommage A Jacques Perrin is a substantial, full-bodied, shockingly concentrated 2014 that gives up classic notes of blackberries, blueberries, forest floor, beef blood and licorice. Mouth-coating and rich with building tannin, it will be approachable at an earlier age than most vintages, yet will still need 5-6 years of cellaring.

Violet red colour of a young wine. Nuts presence on the nose. I felt it alive and fresh.
It was great on the barbecue we made.
I had it at some good friends house.
