Pol Roger

Distinction and elegance. Pol Roger is the "gentlemen's" Champagne, as Jean-Paul Kauffman wrote in "Voyage en Champagne". It is not surprising, therefore, that Winston Churchill and even then British royal family should have made it their favourite over the years. This refinement reflects a whole...

Pol Roger Pure Bottles

The golden colour, dense and shining, is sprinkled with thousands of tiny bubbles. The nose displays refined and complex notes of clove flowers and rose aromas developing into hints of bread crumbs, yeast and citrus fruit, which as they mingle, form a lively and fresh body. On the palate, the first attack, straight and fine as an arrow is surprising, compared to the mature and concentrated nose. But this firm texture seems to act as a chisel enhancing a sumptuous wine, well-structured and fine. The aftertaste develops subtle aromas of honey and cloves giving the wine more depth and contributing to its good length.

- A new addition to complete the Pol Roger range of champagnes, this cuvee is above all an exercise in the House style, seeking to craft a wine in its most natural state without the addition of any sweetening dosage.
- An expression of the diversity of terroirs, this non vintage champagne is born of the perfect balance of the three traditional regional grape varieties, blended in equal proportion. Pol Roger carefully selected reserve wines drawn across at least three years to gain the right balance of flavour and structure necessary for an undosed Champagne.
- The colour is a dense gold with a fine mousse. The fresh and lively nose expresses a fine, complex register of cloves and roses, developing into hints of breadcrumbs, yeast and citrus fruit. The wine is clean and crisp in the mouth, surprisingly so after such a mature, concentrated nose: fine and well structured with aromas of honey and cloves.
- This gives the wine extra depth and contributes to its good length. A svelte and shapely wine.
- Its inherent freshness combined with mature and concentrated bouquet makes it particularly suited to shellfish, crayfish and seafood in general.
- Grape: 33% Pinot Noir, 34% Chardonnay, 33% Pinot Meunier.

Deep colour, characteristic of Pol Roger Extra Brut Pure. Typical aromas of sparkling wine, yeasty character. A smokey touch remained in my mouth.

Pol Roger Pure Brut was a great experience

The nose is delicate, consisting of fresh fruit aromas, white flowers. Beautiful fresh finish. Serve at 8-10 ° C. After the harvest, pressing carefully. Settling, 1st fermentation at low temperature. Filling and setting drums before assembly. 2nd fermentation, put on racks and on keyboard. Disgorging to expel the yeast deposit and égalisage. The last step is the bottling and labeling of the bottles. The exact composition of this blend is a closely guarded secret. It is all true point formula churchilienne:

New vintage of Pas Dosé Pol Roger, produced for the first time in 2008, the Champagne Extra Brut Pure combines, in a perfect balance, the three grapes generally used for the production of Champagne: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.
It is sold only after a vesting period of at least four years, making it fresh and well balanced between sweetness and flavor.
Golden yellow with abundant fine bead.
The nose is fine and has memories of clove, rose perfume, references to the breadcrumbs, yeast and citrus.
In the mouth it is lively, fresh and initially slender, while it is mature, concentrated, deep and well structured in the final.
Perfect accompaniment to seafood and shellfish, will not make you look bad if served during an important aperitif, perhaps combined with a good lobster salad dressed simply with olive oil and vinegar.

Pol Roger Pure Brut

TASTING:
- View: Pure Pol Roger champagne with a golden color, dense, shiny, studded with fine bubbles.
- Nose: we discover clove flower notes, rose, then after a few seconds of aeration, we are moving towards fresh bread, yeast and a lemony touch.
- Palate: looks straight, linear, with a firm texture that looks like a carving that emphasizes a structured and fine wine. The finish is deep, with aromas of honey and clove. Balance between the three Champagne grapes assembled in identical proportions, the Pol Roger Pure is the result of the diversity of terroirs of Champagne, and a cellar aging of 3 years.
