Le Mesnil Cuvée Nº735 Dt Jacquesson Dizy
- View: intense golden color; fine and consistent.
- Nose: The sweet aroma with notes of honey, nuts and bread crust.
- Mouth: fresh, with a balanced blend of citrus and minerality.
VINEYARD: born in 1798, the Maison Jacquesson is located in Dizy. Landholdings are divided between the Great Vallée de la Marne, where there are vineyards in Ay, a Grand Cru, and Dizy and Hautvillers, both Premiers Crus. 35 hectares of grapevines produce 80% of the grapes it (the rest comes from the same grapes area). The vineyards are on slopes exposed to the east, south or southwest, where the plaster at different depths in the soil. Thanks to the semi-continental climate, the average temperature is only 10 degrees Celsius.
GRAPES: Chardonnay 47%, 33% Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier 20%
AGEING: vinified as usual, with fermentation in large oak barrels on the lees, weekly lees stirring without filtration. Aged for over 7 years.
PREPARATION: Cut Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier Vintage 2007 supplemented with reserve wines from 2006 and a "dégorgement Tardif" in 2015. The climate of 2007 was full of contrasts: a fairly mild winter and a summer spring positively, both with record rainfall. The summer heat has arrived late, but has reached full maturity in fairly favorable conditions.
PAIRING: crustaceans, molluscs and fish.
