- The colour is a deepish salmon pink, reminiscent of a winter's sunset. The bead is fine and persistent.
- A complex and well-balanced nose that is reminiscent of orange peel and small red berry fruit. There are some lingering hints of yellow stone fruit (peaches and apricots) and it finishes with subtle mineral aromas.
- Full-bodied from the start, with clear flavours of black cherries. Powerful and long-lasting, with a finish that combines ripe red fruit with a firm grip.
- Excellent match with game birds and a cranberry or bilberry sauce and it has sufficient power and depth to go with even stronger flavours.

I loved the smell of baking. I couldn't find any particular flavour.
In the end, this Laurent Perrier Cuvée Alexandra Rosé is good but a little acid.

Reviews of other vintages of Laurent Perrier Alexandra Rosé 20041998

4/5

Founded in 1812, today Laurent-Perrier is known worldwide as one of the largest producers of House Champagne.
This success is primarily the result of a will, to not compromise with the secular traditions: respect for nature and wine, love for quality, solid and lasting relationships with men and women who form the company, both inside and outside. It is also the result of the energy expended by Bernard de Nonancourt, creator of the style and the Laurent-Perrier range, and his daughters, Alexandra and Stéphanie, who have preserved, today the independence and perpetuating its values.
These same values guide now, more than ever, the action of the team led by Stéphane Tsassis Yves Dumont who went over in January 2009.

Pairing: Attack broad, full, black cherry, very present. Strong persistence in the mouth resulting in a final of evolved red fruits combined with a nice firmness.
