Founded in 1843, the House of Krug has been crafting its line of prestige champagnes ever since. More than 170 years ago, Krug began to release its yearly expression of champagne according to the vision set forth by founder Joseph Krug. From its portfolio full of unique and exception champagnes, the Krug Grande Cuvée is an expansive example of the craftsmanship and style of this historic brand.
It takes more than 20 years to produce one single bottle of this prestige cuvée. This is because each Krug Grande Cuvée release is a blend of about 120 different wines, sourced from 10 or more vintages and using three different varieties of grape. This cuvée may be completely recreated each year but still remains one of the top-rated champagnes in the world. After a minimum of six years spent ageing in the cellars, this exceptional cuvée is ready to be released to the public.
Deeply golden, aromatic, and flavourful, the Krug Grande Cuvée will bring elegance and generosity to any place where it is served. A champagne from a single year offers a flavour and aroma that is true to that particular year. A blend, on the other hand, can offer a new viewpoint from which to see the grapes as the blended flavours and aromas all play off of one another, making a novel and beautiful whole.
