Bollinger la Grande Annee Rose 2007

Champagne Bollinger Grande Année Rosé of the maison is produced, as the label suggests, only in exceptional vintages, namely those where vintage and the grapes are of excellent quality, such as to constitute a prerequisite to producing a great champagne. The product can be imagined as a nectar which condenses in one gulp territorial identity, vintage, extraordinary grapes and the necessary savoir faire of the house. The grapes used for the Grande Année Rosé Bollinger are Pinot Noir, Chardonnay from Aÿ and bred in Oger and Cramant, then territories Grand Cru. The accurate collection of the grapes is carried out strictly by hand, to be followed later by a soft pressing at a controlled temperature. The winemaking and fermentation takes place in wooden barrels. He then began making sparkling wines using the traditional method Champenoise. The wines intended for this cuvée are bottled in magnum size (1, 5 liters) and closed with a cork during fermentation, instead of the traditional capsule (bidule). In this way we obtain a continuous and infinitesimal oxidation process, very slow, which adds more complexity and more maturity to wine, preserving an exceptional freshness. The wine remains on the lees, least, five years. The disgorging operation are manual, the final dosage is Brut, so with a few grams of sugar (7 grams). Coral Colored, charming and mild, notes once elegant raspberry, pomegranate, currant and strawberries. It 'a large champagne, delicate, but dry, clean, precise. The taste is intense, fruity, with silky bubble, elegant, rhythmic. Marked acidity. It is not corposissimo but persistent yes. It could certainly evolve into more complex sensations and thick with time: without any doubt, there is all it takes!

TASTING:
- View: champagne features intense pink color with bright reflections. The bubble is fine and sharp.
- Nose: pleasant and complex, reveals an intense bouquet of red fruits and citrus.
- Palate: The wine opens with a sharp attack then takes the volume and affirms its vinous character changing. Good balance with an aromatic dominant raspberry and gooseberry. The final, persistent, combines freshness and vinous.

La Grande Année Rosé Bollinger is a blend of grapes from the first terroirs and wines. The assembly of red wine from the iconic parcel "coast to children", located in Aia, and high white wine in oak barrels gives the complexity and size of this prestige cuvée. This year Great wine is produced only in great vintages.

- This is Madame Bollinger's ultimate gift, the result of rare conditions: a blend between a great champagne and one of the very best red wines of the Champagne region, both from the same vintage.
- To the eye: Salmon coloured with orange hues
- To the nose: Red currant and almonds aromas followed by spicy and grilled notes. Flavours of great Burgundy Pinot Noirs.
- To the palate: Surprisingly wine-like but also very lively. Aromas of cherries, or kirsch, and toasted bread.
- 68% Pinot Noir, 32% Chardonnay, 89% Grands crus, 11% Premiers Crus, 5% red Cote aux Enfants wine. At Bollinger, only very high quality harvests become vintage: vintage 2004 gives us beautifully wine-like champagne, with pleasant hints of a great Pinot Noir.

Bollinger la Grande Annee Rosé Vintage 2005
I had found it in the shop where I'm used to buy.
Nice and pretty colour. I loved the smell of baking. Astringent.

Bollinger Grande Année Rosé 2004
At first sight it had an intense colour. Mellow yeast aromas. Predominating aromas of red fruits.
Unfortunately, it did not match with food, but the wine was really good.
I tried it when my best friends fot married.
