Pere Ventura Maria del Mar Gran Reserva (Xarel·lo, Macabeo, Chardonnay and Parellada)

TASTING NOTES:

  • View: bright golden color with sparkling reflections.
  • Nose: Intense aromas of ripe fruits and citrus, with hints of herbs, minerals and vanilla.
  • Mouth: Body creamy, foaming, light, citric, balanced with good acidity. Flavors of ripe fruit. citrus and sparkling finish.

APPELLATION: Penedes.VINEYARD: Pere Ventura.GRAPES: Xarel·lo, Chardonnay.

AGEING: 36 months in stainless steel casks on its lees.PREPARATION: The grapes are harvested by hand and subjected to a stabilization process cold. fermentation is performed at controlled temperatures of 15 to 18 °C, for a period of 10 days. During this process, selected yeasts are added. The wine is aged for a period of 36 months in stainless steel barrels. After this process, bottled and subjected to a second fermentation, with the addition of residual sugars. This second fermentation gives the sparkling wine has character.

Don't pair this sparkling from Pere Ventura with meat. Some friends came over and we opened a bottle together.
The colour impressed me. Lovely smell of bakery and yeast. It seemed alive and fresh.
