You will like to know that…

When Anna Cordorníu married Miquel Raventós in 1659, the family name was supposed to end with her. But it did not. Both her name and the family name have lived on through the centuries, marking a brand of fine cavas and wines. The Cordorníu family first entered the world of wine in 1551 and now controls 3000 hectares of vineyards. Add to that the fact that Josep Raventós, a descendant of Anna Cordorníu and Miquel Raventós, was the first person to ever produce Spanish cava according to the traditional methods, and you have a brand with history, expertise, and a future.

The Anna de Codorníu Brut Rosé is not the standard light pink that you find in many rosé wines. This is a cherry red rosé that still remains delicate in the glass with its steady release of fine bubbles. Thanks to the perfect blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes, the whole forest is contained within the aroma of this gem of a wine: strawberries, cherries, apples, and more.

There is a delightful balance between the level of sugar and acid in this wine that keeps it from tilting too far in one direction. The ever-elegant Anna de Codorníu Brut Rosé, in its beautiful gradient pink bottle, was made for celebrations. Take a bottle along to your next celebration and see for yourself.

Description of Anna de Codorniu Brut Rosé

Anna de Codorniu Brut Rosé (Chardonnay, Monastrell and Pinot Noir)

TASTING NOTES:

  • View: Anna de Codorniu Brut Rosé has a delicate and attractive cherry red hue with a fine, persistent perlage.
  • Nose: Aromas of field and orchard red fruits with a refreshing green apple note.
  • Mouth: An elegant and light texture, with a beautiful balance of sweetness and acidity, and a fresh citrus finish.

APPELLATION: Cava

VINEYARD: Codorníu has been a family of winegrowers since the sixteenth century, making it the oldest family business in Spain.

GRAPES: Pinot Noir 70%, Chardonnay 30%

AGEING: At least 12 months, in contact with the yeast lees.

PREPARATION: This award-winning dry, sparkling rosé is clean, glamorous, and modern. Both grape varieties are grown in Lleida, the Cava region with the most continental climate. This lends the grapes excellent concentration, reduced acidity, and improved body and intensity. A mid-August night harvest allows for optimum freshness and integrity of the grapes. Following fermentation and filtration, bottles are placed in subterranean cellars with a constant temperature, where the contents benefit from a second fermentation.

PAIRING: Anna de Codorniu Brut Rosé is ideal for apéritifs, toasts, and any romantic or other special occasion. But don't feel that you have to wait for such a rare event. Pop it in your picnic hamper the next time you're going to spend a sunny afternoon at the park. Or enjoy it as an accompaniment to a creamy or fruity dessert, such as Blueberry Cheesecake, or a classic Raspberry Pavlova.

RECOMMENDED SERVING TEMPERATURE: 8-10°C

ALCOHOL: 11.5%
