A brut nature cava made from Macabeo varieties. It is complex, since three kinds of grapes are used to make it. The first kind, which makes up approximately 40% of the wine's volume, is vilified in French oak barrels where is it aged for 8 months. The second kind ferments in stainless steel tanks for 31 days at a temperature of 16ºC. The last kind is the result of an early harvest and is used to finish balancing the coupage. After this process, the wine is bottled and aged for about 30 months in underground cellars, where the wine will ferment a second time, turning it into a cava. This wine has a yellow strawy color with greenish sparkles, and has a white, fruity aroma. It pairs nicely with grilled seafood, semi-hard cheeses, white meats, and white fish.

Reviews of Agustí Torelló Mata Gran Reserva Barrica 2012
Very light flavour. Very yeasty and biscuity on the nose. As many 2014, it was a little rough.
The ideal wine to finish a meal.
Has a strong colour. I loved the smell of baking. It has a slightly salty final.
It's better not to pair it and drink it alone.
