The 2009 Agusti Torello Mata Gran Reserva Barrica is produced with Macabeo grapes aged in barrel for six months after which the wine carries its second fermentation in bottle for 48 months, and it has just a subtle patina of smoky oak aromas under the yeast, lees and bread dough notes that are predominant, with good volume in the palate and pungent, persistent flavors and good complexity. It cleans the palate and prepares you for the next bite: you should drink this with food or as an aperitif. This is classy, and very good value for money. Drink now-2016. Agusti Torello produces 500,000 bottles per year, and they all have a disgorging date on them. You will find three still Xarello whites from them in PenedesView more
Reviews of Agustí Torelló Mata Gran Reserva Barrica 2009
Very light flavour. Very yeasty and biscuity on the nose. As many 2014, it was a little rough.
The ideal wine to finish a meal.
Has a very cheerful colour. Good yeast aromas enhance a wine's bouquet. It tasted like a mouth-watering candy.
Agustí Torelló Matata Brut Gran Reserva Barrica 2012
Has a strong colour. I loved the smell of baking. It has a slightly salty final.
It's better not to pair it and drink it alone.
