Sella & Mosca (Cannonau di Sardegna)
Product not available in United States
In the late 1800s, Erminio Sella, an engineer, and Edgardo Mosca, a lawyer, travelled together to Sardinia. It was then that the men decided to undertake a mission to found their own winery in the untouched pristine soils they found there. They named the company after themselves: Sella & Mosca. The 520-hectare winery has been producing fine wines since 1890.
Sella & Mosca Cannonau Di Sardegna 2017 is made using the most well-known variety of Sardinian grape: Cannonau. Sella & Mosca itself says that this is one of the winery's crown jewels. Coming from one of the biggest wine estates in Europe, that is saying a lot. Part of this 100% Cannonau wine is barrel-aged for eight months while the rest ages in stainless steel and cement vats.
This is an elegant, full-bodied wine. It is dry and balanced on the palate with a lingering finish that will make you want to immediately come back for more. The silky texture is enhanced by the floral and fruity aromas let off by this beautiful Italian wine. Warm, delicate, and complex, Cannonau Di Sardegna 2017 is the perfect wine to pair with your next roast. It will bring out the best of any piece of meat, including game, but pairs equally well with mature cheeses.
