The Garnacha grapes used to make the Borsao Selection 2018 are the faithful representation of the Aragonese lands and the expansion of these crops to the Borja region during the 19th century. It is the type of grape with the most presence worldwide and stands out for its intense flavor and its tannin touches.

Borsao Bodegas 2018 Selection also includes small proportions of Tempranillo and Syrah grapes.

In different vintages, it has won a Gold Medal in competitions such as the Zarcillo International Wine Competition and the Concours Mondial du Vin and Silver in the Vin España Contest.

Description of Borsao Selección 2018

Borsao Selección 2018 (Syrah, Tempranillo and Garnacha)

TASTING NOTES:

  • View: cherry red, violet hues.
  • Nose: ripe fruit, floral and underbrush tones.
  • Boca: bodied, sweet, spicy, mature tannins and a complex and long aftertaste.

APPELLATION: Campo de Borja.

VINEYARD: Terroir: clay-limestone soils, stony and loamy.

GRAPES: 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 10% Tempranillo.

AGEING: fining with egg albumin and static cold stabilization.

PREPARATION: cold maceration for 3-4 days and 10-12 days in total. Fermentation of each variety separately in stainless steel at a controlled temperature between 22 to 24ºC.

PAIRING: stuffed eggplant, pasta with meat sauce, vegetables, grilled red meats, pates, rice with meat, sausages, grilled turkey and grilled vegetables.

TEMPERATURE: 16 °C

TASTING NOTES:

  • Nose: sweet, with notes of wild flowers, undergrowth, ripe red fruits, chocolate, caramel, vanilla and red berries.
  • Mouth: has a sweet body, spicy, mature tannins and a complex and long aftertaste. It has sour cherries and smoky notes, licorice and oak.
