La Garnacha Olvidada de Aragón 2016 (Garnacha)

  • Nose: Dominated by scents of mixed berries with roasted and cocoa notes.Mouth: Tasty Entrance, showing good maturity of tannins. Final with a touch of coffee and vanilla through the oak integration.


VINEYARD: Projects Garnachas of Spain. This project is an initiative of Vintae group, composed of several young dynamic, creative, entrepreneurial and passionate about wine Rioja company, which was given the task of paying tribute to one of the grape varieties most underrated of Spain: La Garnacha . So they decided to restore old vineyards in the most important wine-growing areas of the Iberian Peninsula as La Rioja, Navarra, Aragon and Catalonia. The variety of La Garnacha Olvidada de Aragón 2016 was planted in a vineyard of clay soils, rich in iron and boulders, with more than 70 years old, in the wine region Catalayud province of Zaragoza, northern Spain.

GRAPES: 100% Garnacha.

AGEING: Aged for 10 months in French oak barrels.

PREPARATION: The harvest is done manually in the second week of October. The fruits are subjected to a mashing process for 17 days. The alcoholic fermentation takes place in concrete tanks large capacity at a maximum temperature of 25 °C.

WINE PAIRING: Grilled red, rice with meat and pasta Carnes.

Mouth: nice and ripe tannins denoting the underperformance of this old vineyard providing a full and tasty mouth.
