Description of Cachaça 51
Cachaça 51
TASTING NOTES:
- Colour: Cachaça 51 is transparent in appearance.
- Aroma: Warm, subtly sweet, and spirited, similar to a fine tequila.
- Taste: Semi-sweet, smooth, spicy, fruity, and clean, with a rounded finish.
PRODUCER: Cachaça 51 was founded in 1954 and is still the proud producer of one of the most popular cachaças in its native Brazil and globally. When a company bears the same name as its primary product, you can be certain it knows what it's doing and takes pride in it.
COUNTRY: Brazil
PRODUCTION DETAILS: Although rum-like, cachaça is crafted from fresh sugar cane juice rather than molasses, fermented then distilled, giving it quite a different character. Cachaça 51 is ‘silver', or unaged, cachaça, perfect for your best caipirinha cocktails when added to lime, sugar, and ice. But why not branch out and try it in a Batida, blended or shaken with your favourite fruit juice and/or coconut milk and ice? Or you might enjoy a Rabo de Galo, which mixes Cachaça 51 with red vermouth. If you have a sweet tooth, try a Leite de Onça, or Jaguar milk, which marries cachaça and condensed milk served cold in a mug with a sprinkle of cinnamon. Cachaça 51 is much more versatile than you might have expected.
ALCOHOL: 40%
