Anton Kollwentz is considered the pioneer of Austrian quality wine cultivation. Shortly after taking over the operation in 1966, he made a name for himself so align its production on dry white wine, thereafter to meet the burgeoning demand from the hospitality industry. Later he became the first winery in Austria Cabernet Sauvignon and experimented with Barrique. His greatest achievement is still the cuvée Steinzeiler from the varieties Gamay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Zweigelt. Today, his son Ani manages the winery - the wines of the estate are considered durable.
