Centuries of history have shaped this former stronghold of the thirteenth century, including two towers still exist: one serving of pigeon, the other pierced with loopholes as a defense post. The castle is refurbished several times over time: its cellars date back to the seventeenth century and the beginning nineteenth remains current. It is not known its earliest origins. Jacques Heart brilliant administrator of currencies and the king in the fourteenth century finance, have pulled money from the silver-lead mine Stony. "There's a castle (...) called Stony, which belongs to a brave gentleman named Thibault, who has long served in the armed and called M. Stony," we read on history of Beaujolais (1672).
