Williams & Humbert Grand Duque d'Alba Solera Gran Reserva Brandy de Jerez

The Brandy de Jerez Gran Duque d'Alba is a limited edition, obtained from the distillation of excellent white wines from Palomino zones and Airén, whose fermentation takes place at low temperature. The process takes place within alquitara stills of the type, with which they produce excellent spirits, or holandas, start to aging in American oak barrels that previously had contained Sherry Oloroso, following the traditional Solera system. At the sight it presents a mahogany color with golden hues, while the nose protagonists are complex aromas of peach and plum, followed by distinctive balsamic notes due to a prolonged aging in wood. On the palate it is quite dry and soft, voluminous, with hints of toast and vanilla that are exhausted in a long and piacevole.Ottimo to sip alone or with their friends.

Gran Duque de Alba Solera Gran Reserva

- Mahogany colour with gold highlights.
- Complex bouquet of oak, prune and sherry. Velvety texture with flavours of caramel, chocolate and orange, with a long finish.
- A modern expression of the heroic strength and courage shown by the Gran Duque de Alba, Don Fernando Alvarez de Toledo, Grand Duke of the Regiment of Flanders.
- The firm of Williams & Humbert dates back to 1877, when Alexander Williams entered his father-in-law's family wine business. Although the main branch was based in London, the company also owned bodegas in Jerez de la Frontera.
- The firm eventually expanded to worldwide export of their premium sherries and brandies. Today, it is owned by Royal Bols Wessanen N.V., and Luis Puez S.A. The brand Gran Duque de Alba was acquired in 1993. The pale bottle of Gran Duque de Alba Solera Gran Reserva has an unusual, voluptuous shape.
- On the center of the label, circled in gold, is a portrait of the famous Duke.

First tasted it when on holiday in Salou September 2013. Loved it so much that once back in UK started to browse the net to buy it. When I bought it and waited for delivery thought maybe my second impression would be different. Not disappointed for a second. Very rich and pleasant flavour and unforgettable aftertaste. Recommend very much!
