Vecchia Romagna Brandy is one of the best-selling spirits in all of Italy. This historic brand, founded in 1820, has been making its gorgeous Italian brandies ever since. The company has grown so large over time that it is now a "City of Brandy" covering 180,000 square meters, all of which are dedicated to producing unique and timeless wine-based spirits.
The grapes used to make this fine spirit are the same as the ones used to make the best French cognacs, known as Ugni Blanc in France and Trebbiano in Italy. Here, this Italian-grown grape goes through a unique process that combines batch distillation with continuous distillation. The resulting spirit then spends a long time ageing in two different types of wood. The French oak provides aroma and a hint of vanilla while Slovenian oak creates a more refined and balanced final product.
All of this work is essential to create the one-of-a-kind spirit that has been the world's favourite Italian brandy for more than two centuries. The iconic three-sided bottle is graced with none other than Bacchus, the god of wine himself. This packaging has been in use since 1939. Both the packaging and flavour set Vecchia Romagna apart from its competitors.
