Housed in Chavanay, north of the Rhône Valley on the right bank, Yves Cuilleron cultivates 59 hectares of vines divided into 5 wines: AOC Condrieu, St. Joseph red, white St Joseph, Côte Rôtie, Cornas, St. Peray and Vin de pays des Collines Rhodaniennes.
The estate belonged to his grandfather since 1920 but it was in 1987 that Yves Cuilleron took the reins of the estate. It is respectful of the land and keen to make wines maruqés their typicality and character.
Yves Cuilleron applies a unique principle in winemaking: "Make it simple"
Each parcel is vignifiée separately, alcoholic fermentation with natural yeasts exclusively, without adding other oenological products and sulphiting, indispensable in winemaking and farming is practiced reasonably.
For Yves Cuilleron, nothing ever is frozen and above all, he does not think "hierarchy" of wines but "a wine-style." And who says style called zero compromise: if the wine is fruity, it is vinified accordingly. If the wine is intended for the care, the approach will be different.
