Led by Antonio Ventura, Montaria wines come from the beautiful northern reaches of the Alentejo region, which lies in the parish of Redondo, Portugal. This tranquil land is full of vineyards, olive trees, and cork oaks, all surrounded by whitewashed houses. The calm tranquillity of the region comes through in these well-balanced and beautifully mixed wines.
Montaria wines all have wonderfully minimalist labels in a white and gold colour scheme with a single paw print on them. Open a bottle and taste the passion that makes these wines so popular, both in Portugal and abroad. These fine Portuguese wines are sure to stand out!
Montaria is a proud part of the Parras Wines collection of brands. This company was founded in the Alentejo region of Portugal in 2006. To that end, Antonio Ventura, the chief winemaker, travelled to the region in order to develop the brand in person. The brand quickly forged strong partnerships with the best grape growers in the region in order to be able to craft its fine line of Montaria wines.
Montaria offers a nice selection of red and white wines, all with blends of grapes grown in the Alentejo region.
Montaria Red: Trincadeira, Aragonez, and Alicante Bouschet grapes are combined to make this warm and balanced red wine. It is perfect to pair with Mediterranean dishes, Asian food, and cheese.
Montaria Reserva Red: With a combination of Syrah, Trincadeira, and Aragonez grapes, this red wine is barrel aged for seven months. This wine is perfect for Italian dishes, such as risotto or polenta, and roasted lamb.
Montaria Grande Escolha Red: Made using Syrah, Touriga Nacional, and Alicante Bouschet grapes, this is a red wine that is perfect for pairing with rich dishes like lamb or pork. It is aged for ten months in French and American oak barrels.
Montaria White: Antão Vaz and Arinto grapes are harvested for this white wine. A fresh, balanced wine, it is perfect for pairing with fish and seafood.
Montaria Reserva White: By adding Roupeiro to the Antão Vaz and Arinto grapes found in the Montaria White, this reserve wine adds an extra layer of flavour to the mix. Try this fresh and fruity white wine with oven-roasted or grilled fish and seafood.
