By the end of the 19th century the British Empire was held the hegemony of the Mediterranean sea, commercial routes and als predominated the bigger part of trading traffic between the Orient and the Occident. People were searching new routes and ways to avoid passing through British areas. But the city of Mombasa right in front of the African island Zanzibar was a point of strategical importance. It was in Mombasa where the first private social club was founded in 1885. Officials of the British East Africa Protectorate used to go there for networking reasons.
Mombasa Club Gin was created by the Spanish company UNESDI, remembering the golden times of the British Empire with a premium gin and tribute to the British East Africa Protectorate.
