On an Italian strip of land between the Ioinc and the Adriatic Sea mellow vineyards arise aside romantic olive groves in the appellation, "Primitivo di Maduria". There, highly experienced Apulian vintners create elegant and full-bodied wines with good ageing potential.
The history of Cantine San Marzano starts in 1962, when 19 wine growers from families with long viticultural tradition joined together in a cooperative. Over the decades the association grew to have 1.200 members, who manage the balancing act between latest techology and ancient Apulian wine tradition through their expertise. The wines of Cantine San Marzano emphasize the typical characteristics of regionally autochtone grape varieties and perfectly reflect the local terroir as much in taste as in aroma.
