about Boekenhoutskloof
Boekenhoutskloof is a South African winery in the deep Franschhoek valley with roots that go back till 1776. The name means "ravine of Boekenhout" and refers to an indigenous tree that's especially famous for furniture production. The brand logo shows an elegant lady carrying the dove of peace and hope who was once the symbol of the Cape of Good Hope. Now, she makes a promise for the quality of Boekenhoutskloof.
In 1993, the owners planted the varieties the winery is known for today. That includes the grapes Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Grenache, Semillon and Viognier. Additionally to the vine cultivation, the winemakers take care of the conservation of the environment. Offering a home to over 9.600 plants, the area stands as a precious world heritage.
The chief winemaker of Boekenhoutskloof is Marc Kent who invests his entrepreneurial spirit into the production of unconventional wines. Moreover, he also relies on an experienced team of experts aiming at the production of wines with the highest quality possible.
