about Ànima Negra Viticultors
The winery ÀN Negra, located southeast of the island of Mallorca, makes its wines in the old "possessió" called Son Burguera. This building near Felanitx dates from the 13th century. From the beginning it counted with several units for wine making, which firstly aimed at supplying the region's inhabitants. The cultivation of the vineyard has continued existing until today and has helped shape the island's landscape. The vines are geographically integrated in the Mediterranean, making the wine a flagship product of their cuisine.
Through respect to the specific soil and crop landraces (Manto Negro Fogoneu, Callet Premsal and above) the wine maker has formed his own philosophy both in the understanding of viticulture and the wine itself. It's about recovering the original meaning of "Name" as it was conceived in France in the 20's, in the sense of developing wines that reveal their own personality. Unique symbiosis of climate, land and native varieties result in particular wines, which are sincere, away from current trends to working impersonal. It is this premise, and will offer a top quality product, marking the day to day ÀN Negra.
