The Antinori family has been fully immersed in the world of Italian wine production for more than six centuries. The Bolgheri estate was inherited by the family in the 1930s. Luckily for them, the previous owners had devoted the land to wine since the late 1600s. From these expressive lands, planted in Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Vermentino Nero and Bianco, come a number of elegant and complex wines, a star of which is Il Bruciato.
The first vintage of Il Bruciato did not happen until 2002. It was devised as a modern take on the unique terroir offered by the estate and used a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah. Sixteen years later, the Antinori Bolgheri Il Bruciato 2018 follows in the powerful footsteps of its siblings. The three types of grapes were harvested and fermented separately, to ensure each variety was able to develop its own particular aromas.
The care put into the crafting of this gem shows in the final product. The intense colour is perfectly matched by the full flavour that this beautiful Italian wine carries in its depths. Warming and silky with a pleasingly long finish, this wine is nothing less than a pleasure to drink.
Description of Tenuta Guado al Tasso Antinori Bolgheri Il Bruciato 2018
Tenuta Guado al Tasso Antinori Bolgheri Il Bruciato 2018 (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah)
- View: Red intense ruby.
- Nose: red fruits, followed by notes of spices and delicate hints of menthol.
- Mouth: smooth, with silky tannins and sweet fruity notes.
GRAPES: 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot 30%, 20% Syrah.
AGEING: aged for 10 months in barrels, before bottling and refined in the bottle for another 4 months.
PREPARATION: Selected grapes are taken to the winery where they are destemmed and gently pressed. Follow fermentation and maceration steel skins at controlled temperature for about 10-15 days. Part of Merlot and Syrah is fermented at lower temperatures to keep the typical varietal aromas and flavor. Malolactic fermentation in steel and ends in barrique.
WINE PAIRING: Seasoned cheese, red meat stewed meat roasted or grilled, pasta with meat sauce.
RECOMMENDED SERVING TEMPERATURE: 18-20 ° C

A territory, that of Guado al Tasso, distinguished by the Bolgheri Amphitheater, a series of hills that enclose the plain overlooking the sea, capable of creating a unique microclimate, with great thermal excursions. The Guado al Tasso vineyards are located at the foot of the Amphitheater and, in the night, the cold air comes down from the hills to cool the rows.
