Elaboration of Sassicaia Magnum 2016
Sassicaia Magnum 2016 (Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon)
TASTING NOTES:
- View: intense ruby red.
- Nose: fruity notes of black cherries, blueberries and black currants combined with aromas of bitter orange, chocolate, graphite and Mediterranean jam.
- Mouth: balanced, full, elegant with soft tannins and a long finish.
APPELLATION: Bolgheri Sassicaia.
VINEYARD: Galestro rich calcareous soils and partly clay, altitude between 100 and 300 meters west-southwest exposure.
GRAPES: Cabernet Sauvignon 85% and 15% Cabernet Franc.
AGEING: 24 months in French oak barrels.
ELABORATION pressed grape, alcoholic fermentation in steel at a controlled temperature, maceration for 9-12 days in steel, malolactic fermentation.
PAIRING: game meats with sauces, roasts and grilled.
RECOMMENDED SERVING TEMPERATURE: 18-20 °C

More about the Winery
Red ruby colour with reddish brown edges. The smell of violets was so strong that it seemed curious to me. Predominating aromas of red fruits.
Better pair it with vegetables.
